Please find enclosed details of the 2010 Paul Hunter English Snooker Open, which runs during the month of October, at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds.
The English Open was re-named in 2007 in memory of Paul, who was from the city of Leeds, and had started his career as a youngster in this very club.
Current world champion Neil Robertson was beaten in the final in the first event, by Matthew Couch, and since then, Xiao Guodong and Stuart Bingham have both lifted the title.
The event is open to all players - of any age or nationality - and the early stages are played as a round robin group, seeded to give all amateurs the chance to play a professional player in their group.
This years event has been split over two weeks, and it offers a superb chance for overseas players to travel the 30 minute journey down the road to Sheffield, and compete in one of the World Snooker Players Tour Championship events, which runs in the middle of our event.
All the information is attached, and I will be pleased to answer any questions should you wish to ask.
Mr John Hartley
Director of Competitions, English Snooker and Billiards
